City Autobahn Consignment Policy
OVERVIEW
City Autobahn’s consignment policy outlines the terms and conditions of the dealership’s consignment sales program. The policy includes provisions for the consignment agreement, vehicle inspection, marketing and advertising, sale process, commission fee, additional fees, vehicle breakdown, and vehicle not selling.
The consignment agreement will be comprehensive and legally binding, outlining the responsibilities of both City Autobahn and the client. Prior to accepting a vehicle for consignment, the dealership will conduct a comprehensive vehicle inspection to assess the condition of the vehicle and identify any necessary repairs that must be made before the vehicle can be marketed for sale.
City Autobahn will market and advertise the consignment vehicle through various channels, handle all inquiries from potential buyers, negotiate the sale price, prepare and execute the sales contract, and transfer ownership of the vehicle to the buyer. The commission fee for the dealership’s services will be 15% on the first $10,000 of the sale price and 10% on the remainder, with additional fees for preparing and executing the consignment agreement, conducting a vehicle inspection, and marketing the vehicle.
In the event of a vehicle breakdown, City Autobahn and the client will negotiate a reduced sale price with the buyer or offer a warranty to cover the cost of repairs. The cost of any repairs will be borne by the client, unless agreed upon otherwise in the consignment agreement. If the vehicle does not sell within two months, the dealership and the client will discuss the next steps, which could include lowering the sale price, continuing to market the vehicle, or ending the consignment agreement. The dealership will also offer to purchase the vehicle. If the consignment agreement is ended, the client may be responsible for paying a fee to City Autobahn, which could be a percentage of the sale price or a flat fee.
